About The Seminars

Each Institute seminar accommodates approximately 30 or so working journalists representing print and broadcast news organizations. Journalists compete for admission. Underwritten by foundations, the Hechinger Institute is able to provide fellowships that cover hotel rooms, meals and stipends for travel. Speakers and presenters at the seminars are leading authorities and practitioners from news organizations, schools, colleges and universities. The aim is to make each seminar an opportunity for interactive learning as well as a chance to establish strong professional relationships with colleagues.
